Corned Beef

Trying to finish up everything I can in the freezer since Deer season is upon us. We had some corned beef left. I bought several when on sale about 2 months ago. We hav one left. Well that was until I popped it into the crock pot. I Have to go to the store, so I think we will be stopping to get some cabbage at the farm on the way home.

Along with that will be some fresh carrots, and potatoes just pulled from the garden. YUM.

Back to cooking

Now that the summer is over, and that my son is born, I cant wait to get back in the kitchen and cooking. First up is spaghetti sauce. Pulled out the ground meat yesterday. I am using 1 lb turkey, 1 lb beef, and 2 lbs venison. The spaghetti sauce is from my grandma and might even be her mom's recipe. Not quite sure. just know that it's what we grew up eating. HUGE difference between homemade and store bought.

When i first started making this sauce for my husband and his son, they didn't like it. they still asked for the jar of sauce. Well, now if I mention spaghetti, my stepson asks if we will have my sauce with it. He told me he doesn't like the jar anymore.

once I get the sauce made up, I will have to can it. I prefer to can as much as possible, instead of freezing, since my freezer space can be used for other things. We didn't can much as our tomatoes got blight.
